The holidays are just around the corner, and we all know what that means! It’s time for some holiday fun! What does this fun include? Well, shopping for presents! There are so many people to get presents for: family and friends, beauticians and delivery persons, and we can’t forget teachers and scout leaders! Now, I don’t know about you, but I love wrapping presents! It’s part of the fun! I turn on some happy holiday music and pick out the right paper size for the right gifts! But… Somehow I always forget which gift goes to whom.
Well, here at Vippies Designs we have come up with a great project for novice and expert crafters alike (plus it adds a little extra gift)! We will be taking one of our most versatile products, the Matchbook Note Pads and making them into festive, custom tags for your growing pile of gifts! Plus, after the recipient opens their gift, they get to keep the Matchbook Note Pad to toss in their bag, glove compartment or leave on their desk for when they need to quickly jot down a reminder, start a grocery list or need a phone number! These pads are very light and you’ll never feel the added weight in your bag!
These are super quick and easy to make and are a great craft for scout troops and after school activities! In addition to being the perfect inexpensive (or add-on) gift, they are perfect for craft fairs and church bazaars! Plus, they are teacher approved!
Continue reading below to learn how to make these adorable tags yourself! (And don’t forget, you don’t have to limit yourself to Christmas! These are great all year round!)
Things You Will Need:
- Matchbook Note Pads
- Self-Stick Calendar Pads (the Small Size fit perfectly!)
- Double Stick Tape
- Holiday Rubber Stamps
- Card Stock
- Bakery Twine or String (Skinny ribbon works too!)
- Christmas Stickers
- 1/8" Paper Punch
To Make Your Gift Tag:
1. Cut Card Stock into 1/2" x 2-1/2" strips, to fit the bottom of the Matchbook Note Pad (MBNP) with a little extra as a tab on the side
2. Use the Double Stick Tape to adhere the Card Stock to the bottom of the MBNP
3. Punch a 1/8" hole (as shown):
5. Open the MBNP and add a Small Self-Stick Calendar Pad.
6. Add twine and dots and greeting of your choice.
These fabulous gift tags can be made with any stickers or string you have on hand and if you prefer stamping, go ahead! You are limited by your (and your kids’) imaginations!
